2015 Fourth Mission Trip
GOALS
Kijabe School: To advance the progress towards sustainablility of the school. To inhance existing projects, install donated laptops in classrooms, gather information required to build apartment rentals and livestock pens for the 2016 trip.
Activities:
Installed donated laptops and insured that they functioned properly. Prior to arrival all the computers were examined by Computers, Etc., In Tucson AZ for structural integrity. The company also installed a Linux operating system in all the computers. The Lubuntu Operating system and many educational programs were installed by JCAP volunteer Drew Olson from Tucson, Arizona.
Installed solar panels to power the computers and light the rooms. The team also explored ways to install wifi in the school.
Gathered information required to establish a livestock program to further advance the sustainability of the school.
Gathered the information needed to build apartments that will sustain the school in future years. The apartments will be built next year.
Coordinated with the director and teachers to insure that all programs initiated by JCAP were functioning according to plan and made adjustments where necessary.
Updated and/or repaired all buildings. (Two Classrooms, Kitchen, Toilet Rooms)

Goals
Naomi’s Village:
To prepare/implement the annual Vacation Bible School and provide needed curriculum materials.
Activities:
Conducted Vacation Bible School
Provided curriculum and requested materials.
ONGOING AND FUTURE PROJECTS:
Planning for 2016 trip which will focus on building a small apartment complex designed to sustain the future operations of the school.
Continue to pay the salaries of the teachers and director.
Continue to sponsor students (tuition, uniforms, feeding, new uniform for students graduating to next level.
Continue working on grant for enhanced nourishment programs.
Continue working a grant for a livestock program.
Communicate with Maasai Craftsmen to assist with economic development. Sent them a computer to market their crafts on line.
